BEHIND THE BRAND
KINDARE is a newly established British fashion house and and innovative retail concept for men and women by Kinder Aggugini where every piece is conceived by the designer, handmade by the atelier and individually customised according to the wishes of the customer. Housed under one roof on Connaught Street in Hyde Park’s Connaught Village, the design studio, atelier and contemporary shop has been designed by emerging British architect Gemma Douglas who has created a quietly flamboyant environment to match the house’s style ethos that is loosely based on the fictitious marriage of Coco Chanel and Sid Vicious.
Kinder Aggugini was born and raised in Italy before escaping to England to study both at St Martins School of Art and on London’s Savile Row. His career took him to work for John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith, before relocating overseas to design at some of the world’s most prestigious luxury houses, Versace and Calvin Klein, as ghost designer. In 2010, Kinder stepped into the spotlight with his first own name collection.
KINDARE’s designs combine the sartorial techniques of his Savile Row training with a romantic interest in history. Impeccable tailoring, conceptual styling, deep research into fabrics and an obscure approach to detail blends tradition with scientifically mastered treatments. KINDARE’s customers are invited to choose from a collection of colours, fabrics and details to create an entirely unique garment in the same way that Aggugini’s long list of personal clients that includes actors, musicians, artists and eccentrics have long since enjoyed.
